Advantages and disadvantages of blow heating

Are you building a house and thinking about the form of heating? Or maybe you are planning to change the way you heat your property? You can find out more about the pros and cons of the increasingly popular blow-in method.

What is blow heating?

Blow heating is a common solution in the United States. In Poland, the greatest demand is for central heating systems and gas heating

However, year after year interest in alternative systems is growing. One of them is precisely blowing technology. In contrast to the generally known forms, in this case you do not need to install radiators. The medium that causes transmission is air, which – warm or hot – is forced through grilles mounted on the walls or on the floor into the interior. It is heated in the furnace, travels through special ducts, passes through safety filters , and comes out through exhaust links

How is it done?

Important elements are the heat exchanger and good quality ducts. The best are those made of insulated galvanized sheet metal or fiberglass panels. The use of such fragments allows the entire installation to work more quietly. Such components should have all furnaces

Another important aspect is the placement of grilles, which must be located along the exterior walls, in the floor under the windows or in the ceiling above the windows. Unfortunately, not every building is suitable for blow heating. Manufacturers recommend using this type of measure in spaces over 80 m2

Advantages of blow heating

One of the advantages is the speed of operation. Direct blowing of warm air makes it possible to heat the rooms quickly and evenly. This is followed by savings. This is due to the short heating time of the rooms and low operating costs. Calculations show that this system consumes about 30% less fuel compared to conventional methods

Another strong point is aesthetics. No radiators, pipes and other cells of this type are needed for installation. This makes it possible to arrange the apartment freely. In addition, the heating is failure-free. All thanks to the fact that no water is used. This generates greater durability and no risk of leaks.

The use of this type of heating is also very convenient. Its setting is done through a small controller. This, in turn, you can operate via the Internet. All you have to do is install software on your smartphone or computer. This is a convenient solution that will allow you to control the temperature and humidity level from anywhere.

The last, but not least, advantage is the possibility to easily expand the installation with an air conditioner, humidifier or other auxiliary details.

Disadvantages of blow heating

Like everything, blow heating also has its drawbacks. First of all, such an installation is easier to plan during the construction of the house. In old buildings, installing ducts can be too expensive, and therefore not profitable. More space is needed in walls and ceilings to hide large ducts.

Breakdowns are rare. However, when they do happen, the rooms cool down very quickly. This is due to the fact that heated objects will not give up their heat, because there is no radiation phenomenon.

What is the cost of inflatable heating?

If you are installing inflatable heating when you build your property, the cost is similar to a traditional installation. You can buy the furnace itself for about 5-10 thousand zlotys. Purchase of controllers and ducts with installation is an expense of about 5-12 thousand

Just remember that the price of the entire investment project will double when you want to finalize it in an already finished house

If you decide to become a user of inflatable heating, bet on good quality components. Saving on them can result in more frequent damage and big nerves.
