Drainage system
Refrigerators have a drainage system located at the back, consisting of a rubber tube, a drain and a reservoir that receives water. This drain can often become clogged, resulting in an unpleasant odor. Clearing the drain and cleaning it should help get rid of the offensive odors. Another reason could be moisture and debris accumulated in the water tank – wash it out every now and then to avoid bad odors coming from behind the refrigerator.
